Sharing Art With Children in the Montessori Way: An Introduction to Materials
Sharing Art With Children in the Montessori Way: An Introduction to Materials was written specifically for the Primary Montessori classroom. The book contains 62 lessons organized into five key disciplines: drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and three-dimensional work. A brief history and etymology of each discipline precedes each section. The lessons are written in standard Montessori format, and are designed to introduce the child to one medium or a combination of art media.
The Language of Art – Early Childhood Art Education Material
The Language of Art – Early Childhood is a set of 100 visual image cards and 100 command cards introducing children to the vocabulary of art by having them look for certain elements and principles of design within the visual art cards. As children become familiar with the language of art — by learning to name what they see — they will be able to respond to art in a more objective way and make more informed choices about their artwork as their artistic spirits develop. Printed in full color on glossy card stock.
Art Look – Early Childhood Art Appreciation Material
Art Look – Early Childhood Art Appreciation Material is a visual art matching material designed to expose young children to the vast diversity of art. By introducing a new visual image each week, children will experience and be inspired by art as it relates to the world around them, which will ultimately help them learn to appreciate the art of others and understand and respect their own artistic visions. This material consists of 216 art image cards organized into three 72-card groups — enough visual image cards for three typical 36-week school years. The three Art Look groups each contain two sets of identical cards so that the child can recognize and match the images (like a matching game). The image cards represent these art genres: abstract, representational, textile, artful objects, sculpture, and realism.
Art Look – Elementary Art Appreciation Material
Art Look – Elementary Art Appreciation Material is a visual art appreciation material designed to hang on the wall at the children’s eye level. This material consists of 108 (8.5 x 11 inch) art image cards. The image cards represent six different art genres: abstract, representational, textile, artful objects, sculpture, and realism. By introducing a new visual image each week, children will experience and be inspired by the vast diversity of art, learn to appreciate the art of others, and ultimately understand and respect their own artistic visions. Organized into three 36-card groups, there are enough visual cards to introduce a new image card each week for three 36-week school years.
